Christine Tarquinio - Silhouette

Penned during the peak of the pandemic Silhouette by Melbourne singer-songwriter Christine Tarquinio is steeped in positivity, perhaps surprisingly.

Throughout the EP’s 5-track offering Tarquinio wonderfully captures the wide gamut of emotions we all experienced during lockdown. From the sense of solidarity that bounds us all during the early days through to longing for connection with others & ultimately an outlook towards a brighter, more positive future.

Stylistically Tarquinio employs simple piano & guitar ballad elements. While simple this style is still beautiful as it soon had us nodding away in appreciation. By conveying her stories through this style of music it allows her compelling & highly relatable songwriting to come to the fore, which is the true beauty of the Silhouette EP.

Overall Silhouette is an EP that every single person will find at least one point of connection. These connections may be fleeting for some but for others, this could become a truly profound EP, only time will tell.
